Two months later......
January 26th - Randomly, getting into the world, leaving my footprint....
Republic Day --- People say "Happy Republic Day".... I am sitll surprised as to what is this wishing "Happy Republic Day" is all about.
Republic Day is an event for us to think on how responsible are we towards our coutry. It's time to seriously introspect, how much we love our country. It's also the time to think how can we strengthen our nation which we have taken for granted.
I was trying to analyze how much I have contributed to the well being of my nation.
I look back during those days in 1996 - 97
We were collectively fighting for the existance of the Jenu Kuruba community which was about to be thrown out of Nagarahole National Park as Taj wanted to come up with a resort (which governement officers shamelessly justified in front of the media.
The spirit of our nation and its people who have been totally neglected was a matter of concern for us. We were concerned that this community were targeted to totally going off their land and culture because of the idiot babus and the Ratan Tata wanted to be here with their families enjoying at the cost of Jenu Kurubas.
We fought in High Court and went even to the Supreme Court and finally Supreme Court asked Tatas to get out of the forest.
So, my concern is that, what Tatas and Birlas do, is that the only way a nation can grow? Are they only people who are contributing to the growth of the country?
By the way, what does "GROWTH" means?
Demolishing those communities, who have been building the culture of the nation for generations? Killing trees to make way for flyovers and metros.... ????
Is this "Growth"?
Not sure why we cannot think on these aspects.... :(
I know, i am talking like a pessimist. But that's the fact as of today.
